Birthday Lunch

Went to a birthday lunch and I was feeling bright pink! Pink is not my favorite color, but I found these pants on my mother's old cupboard and I like it instantly. She bought this cute high-waisted pants back in the 80s, oh how I love thrifting on my mother's old cupboard. I treasure my mother's trash ((:

I also borrowed my mother's bag this time because the bag kind of well-matched with the whole outfit. I don't normally dressed up like this, but this image made me to!

Running Errands

Had some bills need to be paid, visited a friend at a hospital and did some other random stuff that day. Denim shorts and flats were my choice so I could move around easily and hassle-free!

Lacoste's polo shirts are my favorite! I'm a total Lacoste-addict, I have several colors of them. So classic, perfect for any casual occasion, fantastic quality and best of all, timeless! You can do a lot of mixing and matching with clothes in the store or with other items from your wardrobe which is always a plus.

Zee Avi Concert in Stripes

I went to Zee Avi's concert (she's one of my favorite musicians) the other night. I wore a black skinny jeans, breton stripes top and a pair of black pumps. I decided to wear pumps because it was a seated concert, so I know I'm not going to suffer from wearing high heels! ((:

She's amazing.

Style Crush: Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo. The stylish, chic and absolutely 'elegante' socialite! I absolutely love the way she dresses up, she has that effortless style. Everything looks good on her, she's beautiful, has this girl-next-door smile and born rich. I guess it's true what they say that some girls are just born with glitter on their vein, yes?

Packing Essentials

Amara's Packing List

My version of packing essentials: the basics, accessories and footwear! Who's with me? (;

Church On Sunday

Being born and raised in Manado (where people dress up extra-ordinarily for church), I do love wearing clothes that are referred to as "my Sunday best". The kind of clothes I wear only for church or special occasions (But no mistake, sometimes I can be seen wearing a good pair of jeans and white shirts too). Do any of you still do this these days?

Today I wore a striped top from Adrienne Vittadini, high-waisted pencil skirt from Zara and a pair of Chanel high heels.

The vintage Chanel purse is my favorite! My father bought this purse in Japan for my mother some time in 1980s. Then my mother decided to give it to me two years ago, I was so sublimely happy! I really love this timeless/elegant purse, and especially because I have never seen anyone with it!

Afternoon Walk with Lowy

This is basically my "uniform" everytime I take my dogs out for a long walk in the afternoon. A running shorts, comfy loose t-shirt and running shoes. But today, I wore my husband's v-neck tees because I miss him and wearing his tees somehow makes me feel closer to him.

Bottom: Nike Running Shorts
Shoes: Adidas Ozweego

Inspiration: Pan Am

Pan Am is now one of my new favorite tv shows since Mad Men is currently on hiatus. I love the show, the cast members and especially their wardrobe! The cast members are so nicely dressed. I'm thinking of copying some of their outfits. Please ABC don't cancel the show, please!

Be Italian

I somehow feel Italian when I wore this striped dress, probably because it's an Italian brand.

It was my mother's birthday, my dog Lowy and I were taking a picture for her since she's on a vacation with my father. More importantly, this was my mother's dress. She bought it back in early 90s then gave it to me last year. The dress is still in perfect condition and is now one of my favorite dresses.

Both belt and sandals were bought in Singapore.

with my princess, Lowy.
